Do you miss Jazz in the Garden? So do we! That’s why we are bringing it back in a virtual format. Join host Sheila Anderson, as we welcome Mimi Jones and Luis Perdomo in a virtual jazz performance you don’t want to miss.

Bassist/vocalist/composer/filmmaker Mimi Jones has reigned supreme, with her own Hot Tone Music record label. Feet in the Mud, her third CD for the label with the Mimi Jones band, is her most powerful recording to date. She was born in New York City, attended the Manhattan School of Music Conservatory and has toured seven continents as a band leader and a sideman . Mimi has performed with Kenny Barron, Beyonce, Terri Lyne Carrington etc. Mimi Jones co-created The D.O.M.E. Experience project, a multimedia project that inspires its audience to make a difference in environmental and social issues through art.

Ever since he came to New York in 1993 from Venezuela, Luis Perdomo has emerged as one of the most in-demand sidemen – as evidenced by his celebrated work with a wide array of jazz and Latin stars – from Ravi Coltrane to Ray Barretto, and by his six critically- acclaimed recordings as a leader. There are moments in music when an artist illuminates the scene with imagination, virtuosity and above all, an undying dedication to swing. Pianist/composer/bandleader Luis Perdomo is that moment!
